Cheap welding helmet

I use a cheap welding helmet all the time. One of the best places to buy a welding helmet is online. I can remember ringing around all the local welding supply shops and asking for prices.

I was totally blown away at how much these welding helmets can cost. For someone like me who doesn’t do that much welding at all, I could not see the point in spending big dollars. I ended up buying a cheap auto darkening helmet from my local hardware shop.

I actually bought it from Mitre10 (Australia) as at the time they had them on special for about $80. The thing was though that none of the local welding shops had anything in stock that was below $200.

I can understand their point that if you are welding all day it’s better to spend more money on a quality welding helmet.

Some of the more popular and better-known brands are from Miller, Speedglas, Optrel, and Cigweld.

The cheap helmet I have is the “Tecmen” brand. So far one of the problems I have had with this helmet is the plastic strap that goes around your head has broken in one place. I have had to fix it up with some strong tape.

One of the downsides to buying a cheap welding helmet is that finding spare parts may be a problem. For example where I bought the helmet from, last time I checked, they do not sell spare clear lenses or spare head straps.

All helmets that comply with ANSI standards are designed to filter out most of the dangerous and harmful UV hand infrared emissions.

Some of the cheapest helmets might only have the one shade setting, with mine you can actually go from about 9 to 13 in shade darkness. This allows for a wide range of welding possibilities. From low amperage TIG welding right up to heavier stick welding and flux cored welding.

Another area that you might want to look at is how fast a cheap welding lens can switch over to its filtered welding mode. The more expensive welding helmets will switch a much faster rate. Inside them they have adjustable controls.

You can have a look at my welding helmet here: auto darkening welding helmets

Manufacturing journalist Thomas R. Cutler profiled Demand Driven Supply Chain Networks in the current issue of MetalForming Magazine.

According to Jeffrey Ball, Value Engineering and Information Services Manager with Luvata, “This presented a unique challenge for both plants. The two plants had separate planning, inventory, and scheduling systems and in order to ensure that the weld lines at Franklin never ran out of raw material, there was always a large amount of inventory “in the pipeline”. In order to prevent stock outs of a specific part number, a great deal of time was required by both the Buffalo and Franklin Scheduling Teams to avert disaster. It seemed as though, whichever parts were made, they were not the parts that were needed today at Franklin. Expediting of individual part numbers was the norm.”

What Luvata needed was a system that could integrate with both the Buffalo and Franklin Shop Floor Control Systems and provide a visual, easy to understand, and real time representation of the Total Supply Chain.

The Buffalo and Franklin Scheduling Groups went ahead and formed a team to address the need to reduce the amount of working capital tied up in the supply chain and improve delivery reliability. Jeffrey Ball noted, “There was plenty of candid conversation within the team that moved the two plants from a WIN/LOSE mentality, to group focused on developing a WIN/WIN result!”

During a visit to the Franklin plant, it was revealed that Franklin was using a new tool called digital kanban (also known as eKanban) from called Datacraft Solutions, a leading demand driven supply chain technology firm based in Durham, North Carolina. The Luvata team quickly decided that based upon the initial success of the digital kanban system at Franklin, that the Buffalo facility should take advantage of Franklin’s experience with digital kanban. In addition, both plants would now have a common Supply Chain Management Software that could be implemented easily, quickly, and affordably in Buffalo.

Over the next month, the Buffalo/Franklin Team worked closely with the Datacraft Solutions experts, to define the project costs, benefits and time schedule. The primary of objectives of reduced working capital (25% inventory reduction), improved delivery reliability (avoid stock outs), easy to use scheduling modules, and quick implementation time appear to be well within our budget and timeframes. Jeffrey Ball was pleased to report, “The Team is also highly confident that the large amount of time currently devoted to expediting material will be virtually eliminated from their daily routines.”

Datacraft Solutions specializes in providing their clients with the tools they need to rapidly replace outdated manual systems with technology that speeds process flow and improves accuracy. Datacraft’s premier product, Signum has been developed around the Kanban concept of replenishment, and provides an invaluable tool for manufacturing companies to monitor process flow, lower administrative transaction costs, and improve decision-making ability.

September 20, Ganzi Atlantic Silicon Industry Co., Ltd. 100,000 tons and annual output of 10,000 tons of metal silicon solar project a dam project in Kangding County, mandarin duck laid the foundation stone, marking Spain’s largest investment project in China to enter the implementation phase.

Investment in new energy industry consultant, chief researcher Jiang Qian pointed out that the project is June 16, Sichuan Ganzi Autonomous Prefecture Government and the Spanish in Spain Weilamier Group officially signed a total project investment of 820 million euros.

Recently the United States the reason why many enterprises continue to increase the intensity distribution in the Chinese market the one hand, the New Deal Government under the impetus of PV, the PV market, China’s huge open soon, not only to domestic enterprises, which have been seen tremendous business opportunities, U.S. and European companies are also eyeing this.

On the other hand, the Chinese PV manufacturers rely on low-cost labor and energy advantages of a foothold in the international market, after competitors in Europe and the United States seems to have seen this point, the factory moved to China, has a lot of Europe and the United States to become a ray V manufacturers new ways to fight against Chinese manufacturers.

As for the polysilicon industry, China’s raw material advantage will also enable foreign-funded enterprises with advanced technology, the upper hand in the competition. Investment Advisor in the latest release of “2009-2012 China Silicon Metal Market Investment Analysis and Forecast Report” shows that China is the world’s leading producing silicon metal, silicon metal production in China in 2007 to 95-100 million tons, while in 2006 Chinese silicon metal production of 75-80 million tons. Into the 21st century, China’s industrial silicon production and exports have maintained relatively fast growth rate.

2001 China’s export industry and silicon 322.4 thousand tons in 2002, 387.4 thousand tons in 2003 to reach 479,000 tons in 2004 to exceed 50 million tons to 545.1 thousand tons in 2005, essentially flat with 2004, to 536.1 thousand tons.

However, in 2006 reached 614,000 tons, compared to 2005 increased by 14.6%; in 2007 off than the first half of 2006 increased by 16.3% over the same period, the annual export of 2007 reached 698 thousand tons of industrial silicon, compared with 13.8% growth in 2006. 2008 1-3 month of Chinese silicon metal production capacity in the 200000-250000 tons, domestic consumption is 35000-85000 tons, the rest of total exports.

Spain Weilamier Group, the Chinese market may be only a beginning, Europe and the United States on the next seven giant polysilicon plant in China will become a trend. As for the domestic photovoltaic firms, in order to compete with international giants to gain advantage, I am afraid there is more work to do. This is not only crucial for the development of enterprises, but also the health of the entire industry, the development process.

How can a more dominant and technology competition in foreign-funded enterprises in an invincible position, the scale must first abandon the idea of winning, in this based on technological innovation, personnel training is the key to winning.
